Why should I consider BHW Engineers for my project?

We realize that there are choices when it comes to hiring a structural engineer. BHW has been in business since 1979 and has established a solid reputation as competent and experienced professionals. Our best opportunity to explain our capabilities will come by contacting us directly to discuss your next project.

How will my project be handled?

Projects in our Utah office are accepted and managed by the Principal in charge, Barry H. Welliver. Our California work is reviewed by the Principal and accepted by the Project Manager, Paul Pieri. Certain projects are coordinated through both offices. Each project receives individual attention and may be discussed with the Principal at any time.

What are your fees and hourly rates?

We establish our fees and charges in several ways depending on the project. Fee based projects are determined at the time of contract negotiation. Our scope of work will determine the amount of our fee and this critical step needs to be discussed before any meaningful estimate can be established. We endeavor to set our scope of work based upon our professional judgment of the services necessary and trust this is what you are hiring us to provide.

Our schedule of hourly rates can be determined by contacting either office. We consult on some projects based on a time and materials basis and encourage you to contact us directly to see whether this would apply to your specific situation.

How long will it take to get my project “engineered”?

There are a number of factors which interplay to determine this answer. We consider engineering to be an integral part of the total project and therefore dependent on how the parts come together. Other design professionals such as Architects and Designers often need to provide information and finalize their designs before we can complete the structural portion of the work. We can give you our best estimate once we know the full scope of your project. Contact us, and with a few key questions answered, we’ll do our best to estimate a timeframe under which we can manage your project.
